Seattle Mariners Next Move Should Be To Re-Sign Adrian Beltre

The Mariners busy offseason continued today when they traded up-and-down pitcher Brandon Morrow to the Blue Jays today for relief pitcher Brandon League and prospect Johermyn Chavez.

This seems like a good move, both pitchers have similar production and the move gives the M's a good bullpen arm and one of Toronto's better position prospects in the process.

The next move for pitching will likely be to acquire a No. 3 pitcher after netting Cliff Lee for the No. 2 spot.

Blue Jays, Mariners Swap Power Arms

They continued making moves today, this time doing business with the Toronto Blue Jays.

As reported by FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal , the Blue Jays have traded RHP Brandon League to the Mariners in exchange for RHP Brandon Morrow.

New York Yankees Only Team To Pay Luxury Tax


To the surprise of nobody who closely follows the game of baseball, The New York Yankees will be paying baseball’s luxury tax yet again. However, this year they are alone in that honor.

According to the Associated Press, the Yankees will be the lone team paying baseball’s luxury tax in 2009 and will pay nearly $25.69 million in tax. The Yankees must pay the tax to the office of the commissioner by Jan. 31st.
