Scioscia And Girardi Play A Game Of "Whatever You Can Do, I Can Do Worse"


Mike Scioscia and Joe Girardi played a game of “What ever you can do, I can do worse” last night.

In one of the worst managed playoff games in quite some time, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outlasted the New York Yankees 7-6 to take Game Five of their best-of-seven ALCS and force a Game Six in the Bronx Saturday night.

This was a game that really had three parts to it.

How Good Of a Fit Would Felipe Lopez Be For the Mariners?

My guess is that by now, pretty much all of you have read Dave Cameron’s 2010 offseason plan over at USS Mariner . He did a fantastic job on it overall, and clearly put a lot of work into it. One signing he advocated was Orlando Hudson, to play second base (assuming Jose Lopez gets traded).

Expecting a cold and rainy night in New York, Los Angeles Angels second baseman Maicer Izturis dressed warmly for Game Two of the American League Championship Series. He wore long-sleeves underneath his jersey and a balaclava, a form of headgear that covers the whole head and exposes only the face. Bundled up, he was ready for a long night on the diamond, and a long night it was.

It's no secret that the Texas Rangers are for sale. Owner Tom Hicks is ready to hand the reins of the franchise to someone else. Like many sports fans, I was taken aback by the rumors that Rush Limbaugh was in contention to purchase the St. Louis Rams. I was not surprised that a rich celebrity with no connection to professional sports would want to purchase an NFL team. I was confused about why such expenditures are relatively uncommon for wealthy idiots. The only interesting person currently in the running to buy the Rangers is Nolan Ryan. And let's face it, he's no Limbaugh.

The Top 10 Reasons Why the Angels Will Bomb the Yankees

10. The Yankees know the Angels can beat them.

Yes, this is the same issue that just got blown to bits by the Angels in regards to Boston. Until the Yankees do to the Angels what the Angels did to the Red Sox, the Angels have the mental edge.

Jason Bay a Seattle Mariner? Not Just Wishful Thinking

Something caught my eye the other day while surfing the Internet—an interesting piece of sports gossip I had yet to come across.

This article said Boston Red Sox All-Star left fielder Jason Bay currently lives about 15 minutes from Safeco Field.

On the record, let me say that Bay is most likely staying with the Sox, who have a better record and a pair of recent titles compared to the Mariners' lack of a World Series appearance.

Red Sox-Angels: Angels Take Game Two Behind Jered Weaver Gem


“It’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall time.”

That was the text my buddy Odie sent me when Erick Aybar tripled home two runs in the seventh inning off of Josh Beckett to make the score 4-1 in favor of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

It’s gotten to that point for Boston Red Sox fans where they have no faith the Red Sox can overcome a three-run deficit. That is how bad the Red Sox offense has been through the first two games of the ALDS.
