Is San Francisco's Aubrey Huff Another Sean Casey?

The Giants are six games into the regular season and look good at 5-1 (compounded by Tim Lincecum being 2-0, with another brilliant, seven-inning, 10-strikeout performance in a 6-3 win tonight ).

However, while the Giants' pitching has been solid so far, it has been a very different story offensively after the first two series of the year against the Astros and Braves.

Brett Pill Demoted As Giants Rush To Address Trouble at First Base

There isn't any real reason for San Francisco Giants fans to worry about who'll fill the fifth spot in the starting rotation, or whether injured Fred Sanchez will ready sooner rather than later.

There are alternatives to rushing 20-year-old Madison Bumgarner into the rotation.

Juan Uribe's a big league hitter who can play second until Sanchez returns.

There's a growing concern that the woeful defensive play of first baseman Aubrey Huff will require more than a right-handed hitter to play first against some left-handed pitchers.

Does Aubrey Huff Make Sense for the New Mets?

With the news coming out over the weekend that the Detroit Tigers do not intend on bringing back slugger, Aubrey Huff , next season; the Mets now have another potential candidate to play first base next season.

The Summer Could Get Sticky For The Baltimore Orioles

Beware the ides of July.

Before beginning the “Beltway Series” against the Washington Nationals this Memorial Day weekend, the Baltimore Orioles will finish up their disappointing appearance in the new Yankees Stadium (losing game 1 and game 2 of the three game series).  Assuming that the O’s allow for the sweep (because they might), their record will be 16-25 and 10 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East division.

Is the American League East Better Than Advertised?

Toronto Blue Jays:

Don't look now but the Toronto Blue Jays are 6-2 and leading the revamped American League Eastern division. My first Bleacher Report article outlined this possibility when upon the re-hiring of former manager Cito Gaston on June 20, 2008 the team proceeded to finish last season on a 51-37 clip.
