Dodgers-Mariners: Bats Stay Quiet For Blue Crew in 4-2 Loss

<!--StartFragment-->

The Los Angeles Dodgers (48-28) lost their fourth game in the last five tries on Sunday afternoon as they dropped the rubber match of a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners (39-36).

The Dodgers offense was once again unable to produce enough runs for starter Hiroki Kuroda.

Nationals and Mariners Pull Off a Trade No One Cares About

The two worst Major League Baseball teams in 2008 pulled off a trade that no one cares about today. The Washington Nationals traded perennial bust Ryan Langerhans to the Seattle Mariners for unproductive infielder Mike Morse.

However, even though these two players can't cut it in the big leagues, these guys tear it up down in AAA, with Morse hitting a solid .312 with 10 home runs, and 52 RBI, while Langerhans is hitting .278, with nine home runs, and 40 RBI.

Toronto Blue Jays Minor League Report

This is my second Minor League report, and I hope it will keep you updated on all the latest that is going on with the very best Toronto Blue Jay prospects.

Las Vegas 51's (AAA)- (33-44, last in PCL Pacific South Division)

Things have not been going well for the 51's in their first year of being affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays as they have the second worst winning percentage in the entire league. There have been only a few positives on this team so far.

New York Mets: Another Crazy Season in Flushing

Decimated By Injuries, Poor Play and Lack Of Depth But Somehow Still Alive

Omar Minaya can continue to preach to the media about his club 'having the chips' to swing a major deal in the next few weeks to revive his fluttering franchise.

The reality is - he doesn't. The rest of baseball is awaiting his futile call. The price for any player worth his salt will be astronomical.  The reason?  Other teams know the Mets are in trouble and will bend them over a barrel in any type of trade.

The Usual Steroidn Suspects: David Ortiz is Hot in June

So now that David Ortiz has found his stroke again, all the murmurs will start.

This will certainly mirror the talk that surrounded Jason Giambi a couple of years ago.

You all remember, don’t you? Giambi admitted to doing performance-enhancing drugs before the 2004 season, and followed that up with an 80 game, 12 home run season. The murmurs, in that case, became a roar of laughter.

It didn’t get any better in 2005 when he came out of the gate with five home runs in the first 60 games of the season, but Giambi would finish that season with 32 homeruns.

What's Making Me Talk: Milton Bradley, Ya Goin' Down! You're a Loose Cannon!

What a week it was for the Chicago Cubs.

I've had so many Cubs-related notes that were all big stories that I've had to combine them all into one of my opening statements.

Can we start with this knucklehead Milton Bradley?

It feels like I could just write an entire article on Bradley every week. This guy never stops; is it any wonder he feels like a target? He does so many stupid things that it's impossible not to make him a target.

Cardinals Notebook: DeRosa Trade and What's Next

Mark DeRosa was a good start for John Mozeliak, but he still has work to do if he wants to make this a championship club.

There are too many struggling pieces to believe that one player will make the difference.

Many fans will be saying that if the team does not get Matt Holliday, then we are not serious about winning.

So wrong.

Matt Holliday's time in Oakland has proved that he is in fact a Coors Kid.

He will still get that ridiculous contract, but he does not need to be in St. Louis.

Who does? So glad you asked.

Josh Willingham.

New York Baseball Teams: Sick of Rainy Weather

Derek Jeter is now back in the Yankees' lineup after missing two games due to fever, headache, and a cough.

The flu bug isn't out of the clubhouse, however. It has claimed another victiim—Johnny Damon.

Damon missed Saturday night's 5-0 win due to his symptoms, and looked sluggish again on Sunday.

Manager Joe Girardi said Saturday that several Yankees have been sick lately, including Melky Cabrera, pitchers Chieng-Ming Wang and Phil Hughes, and second baseman Robinson Cano, but everyone except for Damon has been available in the Yankees/Mets series.

Tampa Bay Rays: Where They Stand Now

Sorry for the lack of posts as a busy schedule makes writing hard right now.

The Tampa Bay Rays now sit in third place in the standings with 85 games left. The type of ball they have been playing as of late is playoff worthy.

The question is will they maintain this style for the rest of the season?

With the jury still out on Scott Kazmir’s and David Price’s ability to go deep into games, the starting pitching could be the issue for the team right now.

Dunn Hits 50th Eutaw Street Home Run

The home run is the second-longest hit on to Eutaw Street in game action.

It's fitting that as Roar from 34 kicks off "Eutaw Street Week" another batter became a bronze bomber by putting a ball onto the walkway between the stadium and the warehouse. Unfortunately, it wasn't for the home team.
