Pedro Alvarez's surprise entry into the free-agent pool has landed him in Baltimore. Alvarez agreed to a one-year contract with the Orioles on Monday, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, after his abrupt departure from the Pittsburgh Pirates.
