Hardy Headed for 15-Day DL with Groin Injury

With the Orioles smack dab in the stretch run, there's no good time for Hardy to miss a couple of weeks, but he's banking on a break now ensuring his sore left groin will no longer be a problem for the remainder of the year.

New York Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia left in the third inning of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians due to a knee injury, the team announced.

In the bottom of the second inning during the Oakland Athletics' contest against the Tampa Bay Rays, Marcus Semien drove a sharply hit ball right toward the A's dugout.

The A's ball boy was on the case, as he quickly entered the frame and made a Derek Jeter-esque dive to prevent the ball from nailing one of Oakland's pitchers.

Detroit Tigers right-hander Shane Greene, currently on the disabled list at Triple-A, has been diagnosed with an artery issue in his shoulder.

Houston Astros starting pitcher Mike Fiers remains adamant he didn't use an illegal substance to help him throw a no-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.

The NL East-leading New York Mets made another depth move Saturday as they completed a waiver trade to reacquire outfielder Eric Young Jr.

According to the Mets' official Twitter account, they will send cash considerations to the Braves in exchange for Young, who will subsequently report to Triple-A Las Vegas.

The Milwaukee Brewers announced they have traded relief pitcher Neal Cotts to the Minnesota Twins.

In return, Milwaukee will be acquiring cash or a player to be named later.  

Mike Fiers hasn't been with the Houston Astros long, but new surroundings didn't prevent him from settling into a groove and earning his first win with the franchise in style. 

In Houston's 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday at Minute Maid Park, Fiers tossed the 11th no-hitter in Astros franchise history and the first by a single pitcher since Darryl Kile did so in 1993, per ESPN Stats & Info.
