Sadly, the most exciting portion of the Chicago Cubs' season over the past couple years has been the trade deadline as the team adds to its already-loaded farm system. It's actually become almost as exciting for the Cubby faithful to follow what hot prospects they acquire at the deadline as it is for fans of winning teams to follow what missing piece their front offices will add in late July.

Obviously, Cubs fans would still prefer the latter scenario, but the former will have to do for now. 

It's hard to blame Chicago Cubs fans, really.

The sky is blue, and Harry Caray guzzled beer—these are not revelations.

What does come as news is the recent discovery of one of Caray's diaries, which allegedly contains a wealth of information concerning his superhuman barhopping habits.

The Chicago Cubs turned in a 3-3 performance last week, splitting series with the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres. However, that wasn't enough for them to climb out of the No.

With the 2014 MLB draft just about a month away, the Cubs once again have a top-five pick. Last season they appeared to hit a home run by taking 3B Kris Bryant with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, and this season they hold pick No. 4. There are several different directions the club could go, but pitching is likely to be a top priority. 

In the over century-long World Series drought the Cubs are currently experiencing, they've had their fair share of heartbreak. Sometimes they've been downright bad, but sometimes they've actually had reason to get excited. Such is the case for the Cubs right now as they are building up a solid hitting farm system with potential future stars like Javier Baez, Albert Almora, Kris Bryant and Jorge Soler. 

We’re a little more than a month into the season and it’s already clear the Chicago White Sox’s Jose Abreu is this year’s Cuban sensation.

The good news for the Chicago Cubs is that most of their top prospects have been true to form to start this season with very few hiccups in the first month. The bad news, which is normally inevitable in baseball, is that some have still gotten off to some disappointing starts. As an organization, the Cubs' top 20 prospects have performed well, but three out of their top 15 have been particularly disappointing thus far.

As the Chicago Cubs celebrated the 100th birthday of Wrigley Field on Wednesday, Cubs fans around the country will rejoice in the fact that they have...well, something to rejoice.

Although the team hasn't won a World Series since they began playing at Wrigley Field in 1916, fans of the team are optimistic that a championship may very well be on its way to Chicago's North Side in the near future.

This season was expected to be a very solid step in the right direction for the Chicago Cubs.

However, this season hasn't given much reason for optimism yet on the North Side. There have been several players, including many in the bullpen, that have disappointed so far. That being said, there have been just as many players who have gotten off to good starts.
