MLB Trade Deadline News: Dan Haren Traded to the Los Angeles Angels

With six days remaining until the baseball trade deadline, moments ago another star was traded.

Two weeks ago it was Cliff Lee, now it is Dan Haren to the rival Los Angeles Angels.

Broken minutes ago on the YES Network (network for the New York Yankees), the Arizona Diamondbacks will trade Dan Haren to the Angels for pitcher Joe Saunders and three other prospects.

The Yankees and Twins were among the many teams interested in the star pitcher.

Speculation rose about Haren's future in Arizona, and he did have his wish of playing for a contender.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that they have traded RHP Dan Haren to the Los Angeles Angels in return for RHP Joe Saunders and others.

The deal also involves Patrick Corin, Rafael Rodriguez, and a player to be named later for Haren.

MLB Trade Rumors: Who is Better, Dan Haren or Roy Oswalt?

With only a week left until the July 31 MLB trade deadline, two All-Star aces have emerged as the biggest prizes to be had: Dan Haren and Roy Oswalt.

But which pitcher is better?

Is it the the hard-throwing Astro, or the deceptive Diamondback?

Most casual fans might instantly say Oswalt due to the recent struggles of Haren in 2010; however, just last season, the Astros right-hander finished the year with an ERA well above 4.00.

Here is the breakdown.

Latest Dan Haren to New York Yankees Trade Rumors

Nothing really happened between the Yankees and the Diamondbacks regrading RHP Dan Haren today. That hasn’t stopped the usual suspects from passing along information they’ve heard throughout the day.

Early morning reports

Buster Olney of ESPN tweeted :

MLB Trade Deadline Countdown: NY Yankees Are Front Runners For Dan Haren

Baseball analyst Ken Rosenthal reported that the world champion New York Yankees are the front runners to acquire pitcher Dan Haren.

Haren of the Arizona Diamondbacks has been a consistent pitcher since 2005.

Last season, he had an ERA of 3.14 and picked up 14 wins. Note the fact that the D-Backs had a losing season.

The Yankees have been looking for an above-average starter to fill in Andy Pettitte, who is injured, and to have an always-stockpiled starting rotation.

MLB Trade Rumors: Dan Haren Would Fit Nicely as a Yankee

If the New York Yankees were to land Arizona's Dan Haren, they would be getting a top pitcher to add to their already impressive group of starters.

The Diamondbacks' hurler is currently having a difficult 2010 posting a 7-8 record with an ERA 4.60.  Haren though is only a year removed from a fantastic season where he went 14-10 with an ERA of 3.14, and 223 strikeouts.

New York Yankees: Is Dan Haren Bronx Bound?

According to reports around the Majors, the Arizona Diamondbacks have changed their stance on Dan Haren possibly being traded this year.

Haren, who is 7-8 with a 4.60 ERA and league leader in strikeouts with 141, had previously been almost impossible to trade. Now, it appears that the D-Backs have taken a more open stance towards trading Haren this year.

MLB Trade Rumors: David DeJesus Lands on DL, Extension for Adam Dunn

Kansas City Royals outfielder David DeJesus was one of the hottest names on the rumor sheets over the last several weeks.

There were at least five teams that were in the chase to land him, but according to several beat writers, the Royals were asking far too much for teams to give up.

Well, it seems like the Royals are regretting that now as DeJesus will land on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained thumb, which will keep him out past the non-waiver trade deadline next Saturday.

Not to say that a waiver wire deal can't be completed once he's healthy and ready to return to the team, but h

Dan Haren's Final Start as a Diamondback at Chase Field?

With baseball’s trade deadline just 10 days away, rumors are running rampant around the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Mired in last place for much of the season, the Diamondbacks are seen as sellers hoping to add prospects and players that will return them back to contention in 2011.

Amid the center of the rumors is staff ace Dan Haren who took the mound for the D-Backs last night in their final game against the New York Mets.

The way the pitching rotation is playing out, Haren will have two more starts before the trade deadline.

MLB: Roy Oswalt, Dan Haren, or Bust for the Phils?

All the clamor as of late has been for the Phillies to go out and add another starting pitcher, possibly even one with "ace" qualities. While I'm not exactly a proponent of the move , it looks like that's inevitably what's going to happen.
