My Chicago Cubs Wish List

This off season, the Cubs have a lot of problems to take care of. They need a second basemen, an outfield, some pitching, and some hitters. In relation to the holiday spirit, I thought I might as well create my wish list for the Cubs for this 2009-2010 off season.

In this list, I will highlight the players I wish the Cubs will add and the players I wish they will get rid of. Take a look.

NOTE: I name multiple people at the same position. I know that. I'm not saying sign every single person on this list. I'm saying these are the people I at least want the Cubs to look after.

White Sox Position Players Get Their Grades

Now that the baseball season is winding to a close and the races are essentially over, it's time to look back and evaluate what went on in 2009.

The Sox were picked to finish in third place by most publications and that is exactly where they are right now. Though they were in the race for the division most of the year, they never built enough momentum to take a lead and fell out of the race in late August.

Cubs and Reds Set for Rubber Match; Soto, Lilly Rolling

The Chicago Cubs will look to salvage a series win Sunday, after missing an opportunity to go up two games to none on division foes the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday at Wrigley Field.

Chicago fell behind 5-0 early, but stormed back to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning before closer Carlos Marmol gave up a two-run double to the Reds' Drew Sutton in the top of the ninth. It was the Cubs' first loss in their last five games, and dropped them to 41-28 on the season at home.

White Sox Rotation Woes: What To Do with Jose Contreras and Bartolo Colon?

After a heavy loss to Baltimore at Camden Park, the White Sox return to Chicago, licking their rotation wounds.

The top three guys are off to a superb start, Mark Buehrle looks as good as ever, starting the year 2-0 with an ERA of 3.00 in three starts, John Danks is lights-out at 2-0 with a 0.95 ERA and Gavin Floyd is looking solid at 2-1 4.74 ERA.

Indianapolis Indians Opener: The Horror...The Horror!!!

Yesterday, we went to the Indianapolis Indians season opener. It was great fun, until they started getting blown out. Then we made our own fun. More on that later.

The game opened up with some promise, as Indians pitcher Jason Davis sat the Toledo Mud Hens down quickly. Two flyouts started the game, followed by a hit, which then became a stolen base and an advance to third on a throwing error by catcher Erik Kratz on the steal attempt. However, Davis then got Mike Hessman (he still plays baseball?) to fly out to right. No runs scored.
