Miguel Cabrera Successfully Throws No-Hitter on Wife

After he made it home and got into bed, Miguel Cabrera was swarmed by teammates who gathered around the sleeping slugger to congratulate him on the no hitter he had just completed on a very trying Date Night.

It was yet another no hitter in this year that has seen four of them already, not including Armando Galarraga's near perfect-game.

But this one might have been the most impressive as Cabrera, with a history of alcohol and domestic violence problems, came through completely unscathed for the first time in his career.

The 10 Best Performances in MLB All-Star Game History

With the Midsummer Classic just around the corner, now is as good a time as any to take a look back at some of the most impressive performances in the history of the All-Star Game.

I have to emphasize the performance part of this, as this is not a list of the most memorable moments in the game's history. If it were, you would no doubt find the Randy Johnson vs. John Kruk matchup on the list, but alas, it is not.

So here are the 10 best performances in MLB All-Star Game history.

My New York Mets!

We all have a reason our favorite teams became our favorite teams. Some of us followed our fathers lead, and other looked for our own direction to spite'm! It could be a home town thing or maybe a player captured your heart.

I'm a sports fan. That maybe selling my addiction short. To take a phrase from my friend (sorry Derrick) I'm a fanatic. I follow teams with passion.

I intend on writing about each of my teams crossing over the sports I can't get enough of... describing the players that represent my teams in my eyes.

I'm starting with the New York Mets.

Why Money's What Talks for the Oakland A's

When Oakland Athletics fans (well, the ones that are left) walk into the Oakland Coliseum, they see a third deck covered in forest green tarp (not because of rain but because it makes the rest of the stadium "look more packed") and a team full of super...who's?

Since 2000, the A's have won the Western Division four times and the wild card once.

But since 2006, the low-budget ball club has yet to make the playoffs and seem poised for another run ending on October 3 against fellow division bottom feeder, Seattle.

Edwin Rodriguez and the Florida Marlins: A Win-Win Scenario In Puerto Rico

Simply call it perfect timing.

It's only fitting that MLB's first Puerto Rican-born manager stood in Hiram Bithorn Stadium for baseball's return to the island.

Edwin Rodriguez's story, though uncertain with the mystery surrounding who will be the Florida Marlins' permanent manager, is a good one.

He lives five minutes from the stadium.

More than 150 people greeted him at the airport and began chanting his name when the Marlins arrived.

Ubaldo Jimenez 2010 Vs. Bob Gibson 1968: Who's Better Through June?

Ubaldo Jimenez has a great start to the 2010 campaign, where he has a 14-1 record to go along with a 1.83 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. It measures up against many of the great pitching starts to any individual season.

But how does it measure up against the start of one of the greatest pitching seasons of the modern era: The 22-9, 1.12 ERA, 0.853 WHIP, 258 ERA-plus of Bob Gibson's 1968 campaign?

Yankees Give Red Sox Literal Bulletin Board Material (Satire)

A shipment of corkboard arrived at Fenway Park today, with a note from New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman.

Beyond Numbers: Tim Salmon Is Still the All-Time Angel

Garret Anderson returned to Anaheim last week to play against his former team for the first time in his career. Anderson is currently a Los Angeles Dodger but is best known for his time with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Anderson spent more than 14 seasons with the Angels and is the franchise’s all-time leader in games, at bats, runs, hits, doubles, RBIs, extra-base hits and total bases.

Sorry Joe Torre, You Deserved to Lose to the New York Yankees

Once again, the New York Yankees utilized inter-league play by crushing the NL teams, winning 10 of 15 games.

The stressful, yet successful trip out west was exhausting. The Yankees played with so much heart making sure to win both series against the Diamondbacks and the Dodgers.
