Off to their best start in franchise history, the Rockies took three of four from the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday and ran their record to 6-2. The team also currently holds a one-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

One week into the regular season, and Aaron Hill’s numbers are on the egregious side; .259 SLG (ranks 302), and .207 OBP (ranks 350). 

Given that it is early, and granted he was a little behind his teammates in spring training due to injuries, those numbers are still an area of concern. 

With what Hill produced last season, a definite improvement is needed when considering Brett Lawrie is waiting in the wings in Las Vegas.

Phillies preview: The Phillies come into this early-season showdown with the Braves having won five of six to begin the season. The offense leads the National League with a .353 average and a .407 on base percentage.

As many people know already, the San Francisco Giants will be receiving their World Series rings tomorrow prior to their 10:05 PM EST start against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. The Giants scuffled to start the season 2-4 on the road and now look to bounce back at home and get their season underway.

Red Sox fans are back to where they feel most comfortable: Complaining about an underachieving team.

After two world championships in the past seven years and an offseason full of big acquisitions, Boston was starting to get uneasy about being Fall Classic favorites.

Enter an 0-6 start.

The Cubs are a team that is currently strapped for cash as far as their payroll is concerned, but with the contracts of Kosuke Fukudome, Aramis Ramirez, Carlos Pena, Carlos Silva, and John Grabow all coming off the books at the end of the season, they could be in line to make a splash this off season.

Another option could be dealing for one of a handful of top players that will be hitting free agency this season, in order to get a jump on re-signing them to a long term deal, and to contend this year.
