MLB: The Worst Teams In Each National League Division

So far, I've taken quite a beating on my predictions for the American League.  Choosing the Rays to finish last in the AL East stirred up a little bit of debate.  But, hey, it's all part of the game.  Everyone makes their bold predictions, and that's mine for the upcoming season.

Will I be correct?

Probably not, but it never hurts to make a bold prediction.

2011 MLB Predictions: Arizona Diamondbacks Opening Day Lineup

The Arizona Diamondbacks 2011 Major League Baseball Season couldn't be any worse than their 2010 season, could it?

The 2010 MLB Season marked the second consecutive year the Arizona Diamondbacks finished with a losing record (65-97) and in last place in the National League (NL) West.

The team's slow start resulted in manager AJ Hinch and general manager Josh Byrnes losing their jobs midway through the season on July 1st.

Danny Haren: 1 of 9 Major Impact Players to Watch in 2011

He has a career 3.66 ERA and a sparkling 1.19 WHIP to go with it.

Not yet 31 years old and a top 10 pitcher in both leagues at one point or another, Dan Haren has already proven his mettle. A typical year for Haren is a 5-plus WAR and 2011 should be no different, even with a fluky 2010 thrown into the mix.

Haren had a 4.60 ERA in the launching pad that is the D-Backs yard, he allowed 23 jacks in less than 150 NL innings (before his trade and subsequent sub-3 ERA with LAA).

Kansas City Royals: Projecting Their 2011 Starting Lineup

With Spring Training right around the corner, it is time to start looking forward to the '11 MLB season which begins at the end of next month.

The Kansas City Royals will have some changes in their 2011 lineup, as they have acquired a slick fielding shortstop in the Zack Greinke trade and also signed a couple of former Braves prospects.

These projections could be modified some as Spring Training gets going, but for now, this is the lineup is that I see the Royals going with this season.

2011 MLB Preview: Why The St. Louis Cardinals Will Not Be As Good As Expected

The Cardinals were widely expected to win the National League Central last season. The acquisition of Matt Holliday was expected to provide some pop for the lineup and protect Pujols well - which he did. A fully recovered Chris Carpenter was predicted to be back to his old Cy Young form - which he was. There were many reasons why the Cardinals should have shown a better record in the standings, yet they weren't able to beat out the Reds for the division crown.

MLB: The Most Pressing Questions For Every NL Team

As pitchers and catchers report to their respective Spring Training sites, optimism reigns supreme, from Florida to Arizona.

Every team believes, with just a few breaks, it can make a run at the playoffs. The harsh realities of June and July, and the dog days of August are inconsequential this time of year.

Of course, with hopeless optimism comes the inevitable whisper of doubt. Each National League organization, from the pitching rich Phillies, to the perennially hopeless Pirates, has its share of question marks.

Carlos Pena: Players To Watch in 2011 (Part 2 of a 9-Part Series)

While most of his friends call him Carl, perhaps a change back to Carlos (along with a change of scenery) will help him forget about his 2k10 campaign.

Carl's season was a miserable one for him. He played through a heel injury without bemoaning his condition or making excuses for his .196 average. He was the leader of the Rays and a major clubhouse presence for the winningest team in the AL, but to say it was a down year is an understatement.

2011 MLB Preview: The Tampa Bay Rays Look To Continue Their Winning Ways

Although they won 96 games and the AL East in 2010, the Tampa Bay Rays have lost a number of players through their firesale this offseason.

Chicago White Sox: Questions That Need Answering in Spring Training

Another season of Major League Baseball is upon us and the Chicago White Sox, like every team, have some explaining to do.

Well, not quite yet, but one would hope by the end of spring training the correct answers will be obvious.

Although, some times even the obvious answers go unnoticed. See Mark Kotsay.

In 2011, the White Sox have most spots worked out by now, which is always a plus. The less manager Ozzie Guillen has to experiment with, the better.

MLB: 11 Questions for the 2011 Baseball Season

Today, the common baseball fan wakes up from his winter hibernation. Eleven teams will start their workouts today in preparation for the 2011 season.

This is sure to be a season filled with great teams, great players, great games, and great moments. But there are still lots of questions to be answered during the season.
