MLB Trade Rumors: 7 Reasons Padres' Heath Bell Will Not Be Moved in August

For three years running, San Diego closer Heath Bell has been the subject of trade discussions and rumors and the trade deadline.

Yet, Bell still remains a Padre despite this season being the time when everyone was positively sure he was on the move, most notably to either Texas or St. Louis.

MLB: Wilson Ramos and the 2011 All-Rookie Team

Have you ever noticed that Major League Baseball is the only big four sport that doesn't have an all-rookie team that is voted on by the writers? When making this article I figured out why. There aren't enough good rookies in baseball to really form a decent team.

MLB Trade Rumors: Starting Pitchers on Market for Teams with Postseason Dreams

Starting pitching seems to always be at a premium these days, no matter if it's in the heat of a pennant race or the dead of winter.

That fact will continue to ring true with the approach of the July 31st non-waiver trade deadline in Major League Baseball, as a host of teams with legitimate October aspirations, including the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers, are on the prowl for support in their respective rotations.

MLB Trade Speculation: Brandon League and the Top 5 Closers on the Trade Block

As we close in on the July 31st MLB trade deadline, many teams are in the market for a shutdown closer.

Closers can serve two purposes for these teams.

All of the players selected to the Futures Game are incredibly talented, but some are much closer to the major leagues than others.

2011 MLB All-Star Game: Picking the AL and NL's All-Time All-Star Roster

How does one pick the single best Major League Baseball player at each position, of all-time? It is by no means a simple task. So many legends have graced the game with their incredible skills and equally impressive statistics.

But with the 2011 All-Star Game right around the corner, why not take a shot at naming each league's all-time All-Stars?

AL, NL Midseason Awards: Who's the Best in the Game?

We are just a few days away from the All-Star break for the 2011 MLB season.

We've already seen some spectacular performances in the first half from expected names and some newcomers alike.

Like last season, baseball has been largely dominated by incredible pitching performances. Pitchers are going deeper into games than they have in recent memory and leaving most hitters in the dust.

There have been a few exceptions however.

With that in mind, here are the best (and just for fun, the worst) in the AL and NL this season
