A national hockey writer in Canada said something recently that made me think about MLB Trade Rumors. I don't remember the exact quote, but it was something to the effect of: "If Wayne Gretzky could get traded, anyone can get traded."

Just replace Gretzky with Babe Ruth, and it works. 

The biggest name in this offseason's trade rumors, Zack Greinke, has a new home in Milwaukee. But there are still some other names being thrown around who could possibly have new homes and have them relatively soon. Here are 50 of them.

With Zack Greinke only two seasons away from free agency, it was obvious that the Royals would have to deal their ace pitcher. The 27-year old righty would inevitably command a massive salary that Kansas City could not afford to match and hoped to acquire a package of elite prospects rather than risk losing Greinke for nothing.

Following this weekend's trade of Greinke to Milwaukee for four of the organization's top ten prospects, many questions were answered but even more were raised.

The 2010 Major League baseball season was full of surprises and unexpected moments.  Had he been alive today, even Nostradamus would not have seen some of this coming.

There were bright beginnings and fond farewells, remarkable performances and unwavering determination.  Some moments were exhilarating, and some were heartwarming.

This was an amazing year to be a baseball fan.

Well it seems things are changing in Brewer-land. The powers that be have, once and for all, determined that starting pitching may just be the way to win games and possibly even championships. Apparently, it took the San Francisco Giants winning big to hammer that point home.

So now that Zack Greinke is a Brewer, what makes it a good fit? You see it all the time where free-agents or traded players struggle in their new surroundings.

Philadelphia has made the biggest move this offseason so far.  With the signing of Cliff Lee, the Phillies have already become the favorite to win the National League pennant in 2011.

So, what about the other 15 teams?  Here are 10 trades that could allow teams to match the strength of Philadelphia this coming season.

The Milwaukee Brewers pulled the trigger on a big-time trade Sunday, and no it wasn't the much talked-about Prince Fielder move, as they acquired disgruntled Kansas City Royals ace Zack Greinke.

That begs the question, where does Greinke fall in amongst the best of the National League? Between the St. Louis Cardinals duo of Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright, the Philadelphia Phillies "Big Four" and the San Francisco Giants duo of Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain, among others, the NL is not short on great starting pitching.

Zack Greinke is finally on the move. The Kansas City Royals ace was traded today to the Milwaukee Brewers for a collection of top prospects, including shortstop Alcides Escobar, center fielder Lorenzo Cain and pitchers Jeffrey Jeffress and Jake Odorizzi. The Brewers will also receive shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt and $2 million in cash.

Doug Melvin has already traded for Shaun Marcum, a solid pitcher, to bolster the Brewers starting staff. Melvin has said he plans to go get another starter.  In that case, one down, one to go.

While drastically improving the starting rotation is a huge step, that isn't the Brewers' only roadblock to competing with the Reds and Cardinals for the NL Central in 2011.

Let's examine 12 things that the Brewers must do in order to get where they need to go.

The Minnesota Twins appear to have a revolving door that their middle infielders continue to step into, only to exit on another team's roster.

When Minnesota opens the 2011 season it will be five consecutive years with a different tandem starting at second and short.

The Twins traded J.J. Hardy to Baltimore, and appear unlikely to re-sign free agent, Gold Glove second baseman Orlando Hudson.

Currently the leading candidates to replace Hudson and Hardy are Alexi Casilla and Japanese import, 26 year-old Tsuyoshi Nishioka.

The New York Yankees. 

The name alone brings many memories: Of World Series wins, perfect games, and larger-than-life characters—that is the New York Yankees.
