2010 Fantasy Baseball Pitchers: Week Three Top Guns

This is a weekly focus on the hurlers that dominated their adversaries. These pitchers put up nasty numbers this week and made big league hitters wish they were playing T-Ball again.

 

1)      SP Francisco Liriano, Min

 

Liriano pitched two winning games this week and posted a 0.00 ERA. He struck out a total of 16 batters in 16 innings of work.

 

2)      SP Ubaldo Jimenez, Col

 

Jimenez is on fire with two wins this week. He struck out 11 in 13 innings on the hill. Two games and a 0.00 ERA proved he is one of the best out of the gate.

 

3)      SP Johan Santana, NYM

 

Santana got two wins this week and only gave up two runs in both games. He is sporting a 1.38 ERA after 13 innings of work. Eleven strikeouts by Santana shows he is on top of his game.

 

4)      SP Barry Zito, SF

 

Zito put in eight innings, striking out 10 batters. He got the win and finished the week with a 0.00 ERA.

 

5)      SP Yovani Gallardo, Mil

 

Gallardo only didn’t give up a single run in two games, earning him wins in both outings. He is standing proud with a 0.00 ERA, with 14 combined strikeouts in 11 innings.

 

6)      SP David Price, TB

 

Price got the victory this week and sat down nine batters in nine innings. Only walked one and ended the week with a 0.00 ERA.

 

7)      SP Mitch Talbot, Cle

 

Talbot got two wins this week and had a 0.73 ERA. He did not burn anyone with the strikeouts but only gave up one run in two games.

 

8)      RP Jose Valverde, Det

 

Valverde is sporting a 0.00 ERA and has three saves for the week. Detroit’s closer didn’t give up a hit during any outing this week.

 

9)      RP Francisco Rodriguez, NYM

 

Rodriguez secured three saves this week and walked off the mound with a 0.00 ERA.  K-Rod had five strikeouts in three innings of work. Rodriguez didn’t allow a hit during his three save opportunities.

 

10)  SP Felix Hernandez, Sea

 

Hernandez struck out 13 hitters in two games. In 16 innings he only gave up two runs and had a 1.13 ERA. He ended up splitting the games with a win and a loss because of no run support.
