2010 MLB Draft Results: Yankees Draft Pick Profiles, Rounds 1-8

If you haven’t noticed yet I have been running posts on each of the players the Yankees drafted this week. There are 50 of them and I’m going to try to do as many as I can. I might start doing them out of order at some point too. So far we have the first eight draft picks up and I have at least four more on deck for today.

The common thing about these players are that they are young. The Yankees drafted 20 high schoolers in total which is a lot for a draft.

They are also athletic players and it seems like a lot of them are Yankee fans which may help the Yankees when it comes to signing these kids. Look at the first pick Cito Culver , he’s a lifelong Yankees fan and Derek Jeter , the guy he may one day replace, is his boyhood hero.

Here is a list of the first 8 draft picks we’ve covered already:

1. Cito Culver SS
2. Angelo Gumbs CF/SS
3. Rob Segedin 3B
4. Mason Williams OF
5. Thomas Kahnle RHP
6. Gabe Encinas RHP
7. Taylor Anderson OF
8. Kyle Roller 1B

And make sure you keep checking back in as we go through the entire draft. You might want to subscribe so you don’t miss anything. There are many ways you can follow us, read us in your RSS Reader , or get email updates , or follow us on Twitter or Facebook .
