All Eyes on Andy Pettitte After Mother Nature Moves Game Six

After Game 6 of the ALCS was postponed due to rain, there was the Yankees veteran left-hander warming up in the outfield. He took sprints on the puddle-filled warning track.

It was as if Game 6 was still going to happen.

Andy Pettitte stood out there in an empty Yankee Stadium contemplating the importance of lifting his team to the World Series just one more time.

The rain-soaked Pettitte later took a seat in the empty stadium. Yankee Stadium is most definitely not going to be empty for Game 6.

The Yankees lead the best of seven series against the Angels 3-2. It will be up to  Pettitte to ensure that there will not be a seventh game and that the Yankees make their first trip to the World Series since 2003.

The Angels will start left-handed pitcher Joe Saunders. His goal is to pitch a game good enough to push the series to seven games. This would give the Angels an advantage, as they could start their ace John Lackey.

Lackey shut out the Yankees for the first six innings of Game 5. If he were to be named as the starter for a possible Game 7, he would be pitching on three days rest.

The Yankees were not too pleased with Game 6 being rained out on Saturday, but it does help them out a bit. With the extra day off, the pitchers in the bullpen get that extra day off that they need.

The day off could have also slowed down the Angels' momentum after they rallied in Game 5 to escape elimination.

The forecast for Sunday calls for a great night for baseball in the Bronx. The great weather could also be the back-drop to a record-breaking night for Andy Pettitte.

Pettitte looks to set the Major League post-season record for wins and post-season clinching wins.

Yankees fans will have their fingers crossed and happy that there will not be any annoying rally monkeys from Los Angeles.

Its all hands on deck for the Angels. The Angels will have several starters in the bullpen, including Jared Weaver.

The Yankees will have their potential Game 7 starter, AJ Burnett, available if anything goes wrong in Game 6. But Joe Girardi will most likely hand the ball to CC Sabathia for Game 7, if needed.

Alicia Keys described New York best in Jay-Z's latest hit Empire State of Mind , "Concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there's nothing you can't do in New York."

The Angels are dreaming that they can push this series to seven games. While Yankees fans are dreaming of championship 27. It's New York; anything can happen.
