Of course, the goal of any fantasy baseball GM is to draft only the best players from each MLB team in order to secure their own fantasy baseball title. Sometimes championships are decided by how many saves a closer gets a fantasy GM (See K-Rod, 2008) . Other times, it may come down to how many stolen bases a certain speedster who shall remain nameless, didn't get in 2009. (Hint: J _ _ _ Reyes, SS for the Mets last year)
Every year is unpredictable. Fantasy studs turn into washed up players in the course of a year. ** Cough ... Andruw Jones ... Cough... While virtually forgotten players such as Josh Hamilton did in 2008, rise to the rank of superstardom overnight.
So how do you get a leg up on the competition and minimize your risk when drafting ? This fantasy GM believes in putting each fantasy relevant player into "tiers" in preparation for draft day, I sometimes struggle to figure out who belongs where. What class is a certain player in?
