Atlanta Braves Interested in Dan Uggla

Dan Uggla, the big bat in the Marlins lineup, is bound to be dealt in the offseason due to his raise in salary via arbitration.  Dan Uggla is very valuable to a team as he can hit homers and drive in runs; for this reason, the Braves are in pursuit for his bat.

The Braves need a big bat in their lineup since, this year, between their three and four hitters Chipper Jones and Brian McCann, they only hit 39 HR.

Dan Uggla has played very well at Turner Field, where he has hit 14 HR.  Because of his success at Turner Field, I believe he is a top candidate for the job in Atlanta.

If the Braves do acquire Dan Uggla, I would expect Martin Prado and Kelly Johnson to be traded.  Martin Prado may still be kept in a utility role, but since his breakout season, I think he has a lot of trade value, and many teams will be interested in him.

If the Marlins do trade Uggla to the Braves, I would expect the Braves to give up a starting pitcher or closer in return.

The Braves have a deep rotation, and the Marlins should be in pursuit for one of their starting pitchers.  The Marlins should try their best to pursue Javier Vazquez, or maybe even a Kenshin Kawakami.

I know it seems very optimistic on my part, but the Marlins could make a pretty good deal with the Braves.  In my mind, it would look like this:

Dan Uggla (2B) + Jeremy Hermida (RF,LF) + Ryan Tucker (MILB SP) for Javier Vazquez

The trade seems like a real good idea, since the Braves already have a very good rotation and what they need now is a strong offense.

Another trade that would seem to work in both teams' favor is Dan Uggla for Rafael Soriano.  This trade may be useful for the Marlins since they have had a tough year closing out games, but the Marlins would still have two possible closers for next year, and adding a third might just make things a little overcrowded.

I would like to see a trade happen between these two teams, but there are still many other teams interested in finding a big bat like Uggla's, and it really depends on which team comes up with a better offer for Uggla.

I still prefer making a deal with the Braves just because they offer way better pitching than any other team in the majors, and it would make sense to pursue an innings-eater like Javier Vazquez.
