Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox Live Blog: Instant Analysis, Reactions

At the beginning of Tuesday, the Baltimore Orioles find themselves with their biggest divisional lead since the 1979 season. At the end of Tuesday night, the Orioles inched a bit closer to their first AL East title since 1997 as they defeated the Boston Red Sox (63-82) 4-1. 

Chris Tillman (12-5) extended his streak of allowing three or fewer earned runs to 18 straight starts. The pitcher also improved his road record to 8-0 on the season.

Red Sox rookie Anthony Ranaudo struggled in his fourth start of the season. The former 2010 draft pick gave up four runs on six hits in only 3.1 innings of work.

Alejandro De Aza had his best game as an Orioles (85-59) as he finished 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. Adam Jones also had a home run as he finished 1-for-5 on the night. 

Orioles' closer Zack Britton only allowed one hit in the 9th inning to earn his 34th save of the season. 

With Tuesday's loss, the Red Sox are now 22.5 games out of first place, a year after winning the World Series. 

The Orioles will try to sweep the series tomorrow afternoon when they send Wei-Yin Chen (14-4) to the mound against Brandon Workman (1-8). First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. ET.
