Baseball Picks : Battle of the Sexes

The beginning of every season, in every sport is always full of hope and optimism. It the only time of the seasons when all teams are on a level playing field, and everyone feels as if their team has a chance to go all the way.
It is also a time of numerous opinions, prognostications, and wagers, as to what teams will end up playing in the postseason, and who will win it all.
Baseball is no different, as many television shows, websites such as this one, and publications will have their take on the upcoming 2010 baseball season.
That's all well and good, but the only problem is there are no consequences. Imagine if Sports Illustrated had something on the line last season when they picked the New York Mets to win the World Series. Now that would have been interesting.
So rather than just make picks on who would win what, I decided I wanted to do a baseball picks article that had consequences. I planned to see if someone would pick against me.
In a great twist on my concept, I was lucky enough to find Brooke Hundley. Formerly of ESPN, and currently displaying her sports savvy through her writings on her own website, brookehundley.com, Ms. Hundley is more than a worthy opponent. Simply put, this chick knows her sports.
To make it even more interesting, there will be a $50 gift card on the line to Sports Authority, and the loser will have to publicly claim (through Facebook or Twitter) that the winner is superior in their baseball knowledge.
With that said, here is our Battle of the Sexes Baseball picks. Enjoy.
May the best man (or woman) win.
