Two young aces take the hill tonight in the Red Sox first match-up of the season between the rivals. The season series starts in Fenway.
The Starters
Yankees SP Joba Chamberlain is coming off a start where he wasn’t able to get out of the fifth inning and Red Sox Jon Lester threw seven shutout innings in his last start against the Orioles. Lester boasts a 19-6 K/BB ratio while Chamberlain has a 9-6 ratio.
Players to Watch
David Ortiz is on a bit of a hot streak, with five hits in his last three games. Melky Cabrera hit two home runs in an extra inning victory vs. Oakland.
Streaks
The Red Sox come in on a seven game winning streak. New York is on a three game winning streak. As they say, something’s gotta give. I expect that to be the Yankee’s bullpen.
