Blue Jays Bats Bring Big Numbers

The Blue Jays won eight of their first 11 games this season. Toronto improved to 8-3 and has scored a whopping 77 runs in its surprising early move to the top of the American League standings.

The Toronto Blue Jays, whose $80.5 million ranks eighth in the AL, are the top team in the MLB so far this season.

Their high-powered offense is operating at full throttle. The Jays pounded out 17 homers in their first 10 games, scoring 68 runs on 115 hits.

The Jays began the year by winning three of four at home off the Detroit Tigers.
In the series against the Twins, Toronto's dominance was overwhelming, outscoring Minnesota 31-13 while out-hitting them 56-36.

The 56 hits came up only two shy of the team record of 58 in a four-game series.
Toronto is leading the majors in hitting with a team average of .313.
The Jays are also No. 1 in doubles (25), total bases (194), and are second in runs (68), home runs (17), and slugging (.533).

The American League East front-runners will now return to Toronto for a six-game homestand beginning tonight against the Oakland Athletics at the Rogers Centre.
