Braves 1B Joey Terdoslavich Turns Unassisted Double Play...at Third Base

Thanks to great hustle, Atlanta Braves first baseman Joey Terdoslavich turned what might be the oddest unassisted double play in baseball history during Saturday's spring training game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, St. Louis had Yadier Molina at third and Dean Anna on first with nobody out. When the Cardinals' Kolten Wong hit a chopper to Terdoslavich at first base, chaos ensued.

Terdoslavich ran at Molina, with the intention of getting him in a rundown. Instead, he was able to run right at the Cardinals catcher and apply the tag. But the play wasn't over.

Anna, assuming Molina would get in a rundown, tried to make it all the way to third. Terdoslavich was paying attention and managed to tag Anna out before he could touch the bag.

Had Molina been able to hang around in a rundown, Anna's aggressive baserunning would have paid off. Unfortunately for him, his teammate didn't hang in there long enough.

After all of that, the Cardinals ended up with Wong at second and two outs.
