Carter's MLB Power Rankings: June 23

NOTE: Team records and stats updated thru Sunday morning, June 21

1. Boston Red Sox (41-27)

The Red Sox are the only top-five team that has won at least seven of their last 10 games.

Jason Bay is third in the Majors with 66 RBIs, only behind Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder.

Jacoby Ellsbury has stolen 29 bases (eight behind Carl Crawford for the ML lead.)

2. Los Angeles Dodgers (45-24)

The Dodgers have only given up 260 runs, only one more than their arch-rival Giants for the ML lead.

Chad Billingsley is tied for second in the league with nine wins.

Matt Kemp is tied for sixth in the Majors with 18 stolen bases.

3. New York Yankees (38-30)

The Yankees have scored 373 runs this season; second behind the Rays for the ML lead.

Mark Teixeira has hit 20 HRs (tied for fifth in the majors), and 56 RBIs (seventh.)

4. Texas Rangers (37-30)

Kevin Millwood has a 2.62 ERA (eighth in majors.)

Ian Kinsler has hit 18 HRs (tied for eighth in Majors.)

Out of the top five teams in the majors, Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees, Rangers, Phillies) the Rangers have the lowest run-differential (+19).

 

5. Philadelphia Phillies (36-30)

Raul Ibanez is third in the MLB with 22 HRs, and fifth with 59 RBIs.

The Phillies remain a top-five offensive team; they have scored 355 runs (fifth in the MLB).
