Cincinnati Reds vs Pittsburgh Pirates: Aaron Harang Blanks the Buccos 2-0

Reds ace Aaron Harang pitched the best Reds fans have seen him in quite a few starts as he looked dominate.

Harang (1-1) pitched a great day going the distance throwing a complete game shutout.

Aaron Harang gave up a mere three hits while striking out nine and walking none.

Second basemen Brandon Phillips cranked at 411 foot home run in the bottom of the first to drive in the only runs of the game.

Center Fielder Willy Taveras had the only multi hit day as he went 2-3 including a double.

Cather Ramon Hernandez really having a hard time s a Reds so far as he had another hitless game and his batting average so far this year is a .067.

This is definitely not what the Reds thought them getting out of Hernandez since acquiring him from Baltimore for popular outfielder Ryan Freel and two prospects. The season is early yet but it’s still brings a little concern in my opinion.

With the win today the Reds are now 2-5 and now head to Miller Park to play the Brew Crew as Edinson Volquez takes on Milwaukee’s Yovani Gallardo at 8:05 ET.
