Daniel's Thoughts During The All-Star Selection Show

Here are a few thoughts that I had during the All-Star selection:

 Waiting for the All-Star selection show to start, flipping between the epic Wimbledon battle and TBS.

Wow. Boomer got skinnier, not skinny, just less fat. But who cares about David Wells highlights? Get to the selecting. How does Ernie Johnson have a job? Oh yeah, Daddy.

Joe Mauer -- What an obvious choice.
Mark Teixeira -- Woot, woot! Beat Youkilis. Both were deserving, but I'm glad Tex won.
Dustin Pedroia -- A nod signified he didn't deserve. This is a joke.
Derek Jeter -- No complaints for this one, but Bartlett should've started.
Evan Longoria -- Another obvious choice.
Jason Bay -- obvious choice. Bay is so clutch and deserves it.
Ichiro Suzuki -- no complaints, batting over .360.
Josh Hamilton -- Come on, he better sit out. Torii Hunter was so much more deserving.

Who doesn't like Jason Bay? He's not arrogant. Although his .259 batting average is concerning.

Evan Longoria's the future Derek Jeter... but better. America is infatuated with him. He's so humble. Two All-Star games in two years.

HR derby looks to be good -- Longoria/Morneau/Hamilton and Pujols/Howard/Fielder? Pujols will win.

They should just get the selection out of the way first, nobody cares about these interviews.

They knew who to interview.. Utley and Longoria.. two great characters in the MLB. Chase Utley idolized Jim Thome. Another great character.

NL pitching staff:
Matt Cain -- great choice.
Ted Lilly -- needed a Cubs rep.
Dan Haren -- how was he not a player's choice?!?
Tim Lincecum -- the Freak has a "changeup from hell."
Chad Billingsley -- deserves it.
Josh Johnson -- great choice/underrated player.
Ryan Franklin -- yes! great selection. He saved the Cards' bullpen.
Heath Bell -- he must be there, leading the NL in saves.
Jonathan Broxton -- deserves it.
Francisco Rodriguez -- no doubt about it.
Johan Santana -- eh, he's been sketchy as of late, but still deserving.
Francisco Cordero -- definitely deserves it.
Jason Marquis -- he does not deserve this, but there's the 33rd selection for a reason.

Justin Upton -- YES! GREAT PICK! Definitely deserves it.
Brian McCann -- should've started, but good bid.
Brad Hawpe -- couldn't agree more.
Hunter Pence -- YES! Another favorite player in the game.
Miguel Tejada -- still hate him, but he deserves it.
Orlando Hudson -- the O-Dog gets in. Great pick.
Prince Fielder -- no doubt, MVP numbers.
Ryan Howard -- NO. BAD CHOICE. Helton is more deserving.
Freddy Sanchez -- yes, great selection. Trade bait.
Adrian Gonzalez -- he deserves it.
Ryan Zimmerman -- Nats need a rep.

No complaints, except Ryan Howard. He is NO WAY deserves it. Snubs include Yovani Gallardo, Johnny Cueto, Pablo Sandoval, Mark Reynolds, Trevor Hoffman and Jair Jurrjens. Should be an interesting last man ballot.

What an epic coaching staff. Charlie Manuel... Joe Torre... and Tony La Russa. Wow. The NL's gonna take it this year.

AL staff:
Zack Greinke -- duh.
Roy Halladay -- see above.
Justin Verlander -- player's choice, well deserving.
Tim Wakefield -- ugh, he doesn't deserve it. He stole someone's spot.
Mark Buehrle -- yes, well-deserving.
Jonathan Papelbon -- 20/22 in saves, well-deserved.
Joe Nathan -- best closer in the game.
Mariano Rivera -- eh, feel-good story, GREAT player. All-Star worthy? Eh. Aardsma was more deserving.
Brian Fuentes -- not deserving. He's only in because he leads saves.
Andrew Bailey -- rookie is well deserving. A's need a rep also.
Felix Hernandez -- the King is so dominant. Extremely deserving.
Josh Beckett -- AL East bias again.. He's not bad, but others are more deserving.
Edwin Jackson -- I was about to say. If he didn't get in...

What? Where is Jered Weaver? Josh Beckett is awesome, but Weaver is way more deserving. And if not Weaver, where's Kevin Millwood? Having a 2.80 ERA in the AL is not All-Star deserving?

AL reserves:
Adam Jones -- yes, not snubbed! Markakis next?
Kevin Youkilis -- highest OBP, definite choice.
Victor Martinez -- great choice. He's back.
Curtis Granderson -- WHAT? No way. Not deserving.
Torii Hunter -- should be starting instead of Hamilton.
Justin Morneau -- MVP of the AL, should be starting.
Jason Bartlett -- should also be starting.
Carl Crawford -- duh.
Ben Zobrist -- insane year, he definitely should be in.
Michael Young -- over Brandon Inge? What the heck? Over Chone Figgins? Over Scott Rolen?
Aaron Hill -- that's right.

Curtis Granderson MAKES NO SENSE. He got in over Nick Markakis, Shin-Soo Choo, and Jermaine Dye? That's dumb. Also, where's Miguel Cabrera?

AL Final Vote: Lind, Kinsler, Figgins, Pena, Inge -- I'm voting for Inge! Kinsler's going to win, though.
NL Final Vote: Reynolds, Kemp, Victorino, Sandoval, Guzman -- I'm voting for Sandoval! Sandoval will likely win (if not Victorino), too, thanks ESPN for bringing attention to the Kung Fu Panda.
