Don't Gamble! Take the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers over Nine

You don't need money and pending wagers to gamble.  It's pride, competition, and knowing you are right. Tonight, the Minnesota Twins visit the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park for the opening game of an  inter-league series between the two clubs.  Three reasons to take the over for the consensus Las Vegas casinos line of nine.

8:10 ET: Minnesota at Milwaukee

Scott Baker (6-5, 4.41 ERA)

Chistopher Narverson (5-4, 5.79 ERA)

1. Both teams had yesterday off. A day's rest is always more valuable for hitters, and for relief pitching.  Statistics have shown the drop in a team's batting average during the final games of a long road trip.  The Brewers are coming off a six-game road trip, in which they went 3-3. Minnesota went 2-1 and scored 21 runs in a three game series at Philadelphia over the weekend.

2. Baker and Naverson during 2010. Both pitchers have combined for 9.4 in run support, and 10.1 runs against during the season.  They also have a combined 10.2 ERA in 24 starts. With a day's rest, look for Naverson to receive additional run support, compared to the 3.7 he has been given by his teammates during his last three starts.

3. No HOOK, and the Brewers are home. Milwaukee hasn't played at home since June 12, and this is the Wisconsin-Minnesota state rivalry.  The absence of a hook (0.5) gives you a better chance of pushing, and getting your money back at nine runs scored between the two.

Over/Under lines provided by the Las Vegas Hilton at 3:30 ET.
