For the second time in as many years, the New York Mets are headed to the postseason.

By virtue of Saturday's 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies, the Mets clinched a wild-card berth a week after the Washington Nationals celebrated their National League East title.

All six division titles have already been celebrated around baseball, which leaves just the two wild-card spots in both leagues up for grabs during the final days of the regular season. There are a total of seven teams still battling for those remaining postseason berths.

The Atlanta Braves have reportedly begun the process of interviewing in-house candidates for their vacant managerial position, but they still plan to speak with other options from outside the organization.

There are just two full days left in the regular season, yet there is still plenty of excitement in both the American and National Leagues when it comes to the wild-card qualifiers.

Both leagues are set as far as the division winners are concerned, as the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers have taken the East, Central and West, respectively, in the American League.

The death of Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez shook the baseball world. It stopped, memorialized one of its great young talents and mourned.

With difficulty, the sport tried to move on, holding onto the memory of the charisma and joy that Fernandez brought to the game while soldiering on to the end of the 2016 regular season.

But nothing was more touching or memorable than what the Marlins did to honor their teammate.

Normally, we'd open the final Bleacher Report MLB Team of the Week with a quip or amusing anecdote. 

But this was the week we lost Jose Fernandez, one of baseball's brightest young talents, and we're not in a quippy mood.

Still, plenty of players did impressive things as the playoff races wrapped up or came down to the wire.

Here are 10 guys—one per position, including a starting pitcher and designated hitter—who busted box scores over the past seven days.

They won't have Matt Harvey, they won't have Jacob deGrom, and they won't have Daniel Murphy.

If you're expecting the New York Mets to be the same roadblock they were for the Chicago Cubs they were last October, well, a lot of the power pitching is hurt, and the power-hitting second baseman is gone.

But they do have Jay Bruce.    

After locking up president Theo Epstein, the Chicago Cubs are keeping the rest of their dynamic front-office trio together with extensions for general manager Jed Hoyer and vice president Jason McLeod.  

According to the Cubs' official Twitter account, Hoyer and McLeod each received five-year extensions through 2021. 

While the top teams in the league are focused on the postseason, the rest of Major League Baseball is looking toward the future for players who can turn around fortunes next year.

With weather wreaking havoc in Pennsylvania on Thursday night, the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates had their game called in the middle of the sixth inning with a 1-1 score for Major League Baseball's first tie game in 11 years.

MLB's last tie game prior to Thursday was on June 30, 2005, when a game between the Houston Astros and Cincinnati Reds was called after seven innings due to weather with the score tied at two.
