4 Rumored MLB Trades You Shouldn't Believe

I'll take a wild guess and say that about 98.32 percent of rumored trades between now and July 31 won't happen. In fact, a large percentage of those probably weren't even seriously discussed by the teams mentioned.

So while we were all seriously discussing how those players would fit on their new teams and speculating on which prospects were going to be part of the trade package, the general managers involved in the rumored deal were probably working on a deal that was completely under wraps and then surprised the heck out of everybody once it was announced.

Grading Matt Harvey, Shelby Miller and Wave of Stud Pitching Prospects in Action

On the MLB schedule for Friday, a veritable who's who of young pitching stars were scheduled to start.

Matt Harvey and Shelby Miller were just two of the bright young arms in the game slated to work—Gerrit Cole, Julio Teheran, Miller, Harvey, Allen Webster, Alex Colome and Trevor Bauer all took the mound on Friday.

Each one of them were highly touted prospects who have made their way to the majors—all with thoughts of achieving greatness at the highest level.

Indians and White Sox Total 29 Runs, 400-Plus Pitches in Game 1 of Doubleheader

The Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox put on an offensive clinic in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday, combining to score 29 runs as the Indians came away with a victory, winning 19-10.

The two teams simply couldn't pitch to each other, as every batter who came up to the plate recorded a hit (other than Alex Rios, who still hit a sacrifice fly).

Seattle Mariners: 2013 Season on the Brink of Disaster

As of June 27, the Seattle Mariners are 12 games out of first place. In this case, 12 is not a particularly good number. One could argue that 12 is a number that is too high to realistically overcome, even with months to go in the season.

Is the 2013 season on the brink of disaster? Will fans already be forced to start looking forward to 2014?
