We're talking, of course, about Madison Bumgarner and Johnny Cueto, the Giants' deadly lefty/righty duo. As we roll toward the All-Star break, they've emerged as baseball's best pitching twosome.

Both the NHL and the NFL are reportedly toying with the idea of a franchise in Las Vegas, and MLB may be hopping aboard the bandwagon.   

In an interview Tuesday morning on The Michael Kay Show (via YES Network), MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred explained that putting a team in Sin City isn't as inconceivable as it once was:

New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon left Tuesday's start against the Kansas City Royals in the first inning after being hit in the hand by a comeback line drive. He was diagnosed with a right thumb injury, but X-rays were negative, and he is not expected to miss time.

New York Mets pitcher Zack Wheeler has experienced a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. According to a Tuesday report by MLB.com's Anthony DiComo, Wheeler has felt "discomfort" in his elbow and won't be throwing a scheduled simulated inning this week.

Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez is the leading vote-getter in the AL. With 2,744,293 votes, he owns a commanding lead over Baltimore Orioles catcher Matt Wieters. First basemen Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs leads the NL voting with 2,202,494 votes.

The Chicago Cubs starting rotation enters Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with a cumulative 2.34 ERA, which would be the lowest combined mark by any team's starters since 1919, per MLB Stat of the Day.
