Boston Red Sox 10-Baltimore Orioles 8: An Offensive Slump Broken

Down seven runs to begin the bottom of the second inning, Boston never changed their approach at the plate. The Red Sox knew they were given too many innings to catch up.

J.D. Drew lead off the inning with a walk and Jason Bay followed crushing his third home run of the season into Baltimore's bullpen cutting the lead to 7-2.

Boston's comeback was just getting started.

The Pawtacket Red Sox Lost the Battle Friday, but May Have Won the War

Maybe the Pawtucket Red Sox lost the battle Friday night, in their home opener against the Leigh Valley Iron Pigs.

But because knuckleballer Charlie Zink and reliever Billy Traber gave them nine innings, the PawSox may win the war, the war being the remainder of a six-game homestand.

The Iron Pigs eked out a 4-3 victory before an all-time McCoy Stadium record crowd of 11,892, but the PawSox's situation is more encouraging given the efforts of Zink and Traber.

Here's why.

Top Five: Curses Still Looking To Be Broken

We have all heard this song and dance before when it comes to sports curses.

Jonathan Sanchez Called on to End Six-Game Skid in SF

The Giants really would like to put their Southern California road trip behind them tonight. After getting swept by both the Padres and Dodgers, they pin their hopes of ending their six-game skid on lefty Jonathan Sanchez.

They face a divisional rival for the third time in a row, and would like to take a series from at least one of them.

Sanchez takes the hill tonight for the second time this season against the D-backs. His last outing was less than stellar, giving up 5 runs in just 4.2 innings in a loss to the Peavy and Padres.

Bloggers vs. Reporters: Why Can't We Be Friends?

Much has been made about the perception these days of bloggers, tweeters, and everything else in the sports journalism world in this day and age.

Many of you have probably seen the infamous Buzz Bissinger blow up on Will Leitch, Editor and Founder of the satirical sports Web site Deadspin.com.

Detroit Tigers-Seattle Mariners: Detroit Faces Their First West Coast Trip

After starting last season 1-8, the Detroit Tigers are 5-4 as they encounter their first west coast trip of the season. In this trip they will play the Seattle Mariners in a three-game set, then head down to southern California to face the Los Angeles Angels. They will then head back to the Midwest to play a division opponent, the Kansas City Royals.

The Mariners are 7-3 and are on top of the American League West by two-and-a-half games over the Angels, Oakland Athletics, and Texas Rangers.

The All Fat All-Stars: A Tribute to Bartolo Colon

In Honor of Bartolo Colon's game against the Tampa Bay Rays tonight, I would like to present "The All Fat All-Stars:"

Cubs-Cardinals: Cubs 8, Cardinals 7

Well, that was the most frustrating Cubs win I can ever remember watching.

Chicago jumped on the hated Cardinals early with two runs in the first courtesy of a Hoffpauir double and Ramirez single.  The Cubs added another in the second via a Fukudome sac fly to score Mike Fontenot.  However, it was the second inning when the frustration started building.

Humber Gone, Morillo In

One of the four players that the Minnesota Twins received for their former star, Johan Santana, may soon be gone.

The Thin Line Of Baltimore's Rebuilding Process

Andy MacPhail has made no secret of his strategy to rebuild the Baltimore Orioles.

The future isn't now. This season, while not a throwaway year, is a work in progress. A .500 record has been considered a dream for this bunch, while a second straight last-place finish is far more reasonable.

The future, instead, is a couple of years from now. Three years, two years, perhaps next year, if all goes absolutely according to plan, and star pitching prospects mature quickly.
