The St. Louis Cardinals have been quiet ever since starting their winter off with a bang by acquiring Jason Heyward. A bit too quiet.

One month removed from the winter meetings, Major League Baseball's hot stove seems to have burned out. There are still two big free-agent dominoes in Max Scherzer and James Shields, but the trade winds are starting to pick up once again. 

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson reiterated on Wednesday that, in all likelihood, Wilmer Flores will be the team's starting shortstop on Opening Day 2015.

The Atlanta Braves system may be weak, but the cupboard is far from bare.

Twenty-year-old second baseman Jose Peraza's exciting tools and advanced feel for the game have him on the fast track to the major leagues, while the team's top prospect from 2014, right-hander Lucas Sims, seems poised for a bounce-back campaign.  

Free agency has not been kind to Stephen Drew recently, but the veteran shortstop has found a new home heading into the 2015 season.

Nationals rumors this offseason have been largely dominated by who might be leaving the team. Jordan Zimmermann, Doug Fister and Ian Desmond are no closer to learning their fate. 

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher has undergone offseason surgery in his right ankle. Luckily for the San Francisco Giants, he's expected to be good to go by Opening Day.

The 2015 MLB Hall of Fame class has officially been announced, as it will be a four-player class of Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio earning enshrinement in the hallowed halls of Cooperstown this year.

The three pitchers are each first-ballot selections and deservedly so, as they were among the greatest to ever toe the rubber. But for Biggio, it took three tries to finally gain induction.

The 2015 MLB Hall of Fame class is complete, and it's one of the most unique in history. 

Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio were all granted admission to Cooperstown by the Baseball Writers Association of America on Tuesday afternoon, making it the largest class in 60 years, per Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan:

If you think Mike Piazza is worthy of Cooperstown, you're not alone. For the third year in a row, he drew votes from the majority of the Hall of Fame voters.

…But not quite enough to actually get into the Hall of Fame.
