A lot of people wonder what makes the Washington Redskins one of the worst franchises in professional sports. Surprisingly, the biggest reason isn’t fan censorship or poor management.
It’s the fact that iconic former Redskins are all too willing to drag the team through the mud on a daily basis.
When is the last time you heard Bo Jackson trashing the Raiders? Or Willie Lanier slamming the Kansas City Chiefs? That’s the job of the media and sports talk radio fanatics.
But here in Washington, former players are the media. They are hired in part to be insightful pundits on a game they once played, and to objectively detail what’s right and wrong with what fans see on the field.
But they are none too shy about making their bitter opinions heard and felt, and rightfully so; especially when you consider how Daniel Snyder has screwed the majority of them over on his way to bad deals and zany signings .
Alumni relations fail. Another day, another reason to loathe Daniel Snyder.
