Alvarez to the Disabled List
Friday, May 22
Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald noted Friday that Alvarez and fellow starter Mat Latos were placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Alvarez has four starts on the season with an 0-4 record, 6.45 ERA and .308 batting average against. With numbers like that it is only natural to wonder if the shoulder has impacted him this year. If that is the case, the trip to the disabled list will likely do him good moving into the latter portion of the season, assuming he can return from the inflammation.
Miami lost its eighth consecutive game Friday and sits in last place in the National League East.
