Joe Maddon Video: Watch Rays' Skipper Eject the Umpires After Getting Tossed

Joe Maddon Tossed in Sixth Inning Against White Sox

Shortly before his team was set to take on the Chicago White Sox in the final game of their four-game series, Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the Ray's 1-7 start.

"Slice it anyway u want, we're just not hitting. What our players need from me is support/ patience. I see our guys working hard, caring."

I guess Maddon simply neglected to mention that a proper temper tantrum might also do the trick. Because with the Rays trailing 6-1 in the top of the sixth inning, that's what he came up with.

With two outs and a run home, Rays first baseman Dan Johnson hit a ball that was bobbled by White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko. It was then picked up by Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham, but Gavin Floyd appeared to bobble his throw as he went to cover first base. Johnson was ruled safe and a second run scored.

But then there was a conference, and the call was overturned. Johnson was out, and the second run was taken off the board.

Out came Maddon, who was tossed after getting just a few words in with the umpiring crew. Not to be outdone, Maddon decided to make a few ejections of his own, as he pretended to toss each of the four umpires down on the field.

Utterly hilarious, Joe. Earl Weaver would be proud.
