Who would have thought a rain delay would be so dangerous?
The Kansas City Royals grounds crew is among the best, but one groundskeeper needs to have a little safety training.
As the Royals crew was bringing out the tarp for a rain delay one of their men jumped over the front only to fall and be steamrolled by the tarp. That’s a good 1,500 pound reminder of just how not to do your job.
However, as the announcer points out, the groundskeeper will have a far worse fate than getting doughed by a tarp roll. He’ll have to hear about it from the co-workers.
Sure, it will start out with the little jabs of “Now Trevor (his real name) let’s try and stay above the tarp this time.”
Then it will become an everyday occurrence where everything he does is put under that guise. “Hey Trevor, try not to get rolled over by the tarp on your way to the bathroom.”
“Hey Trevor, hope your trip to Costa Rica to work with needy children doesn’t have any tarp there.”
“Nice job on curing cancer…remember that one time your ass got flattened under the tarp? Idiot.”
Then Trevor will think back on that day and pray that someone loses a foot during an infield raking just to take the focus off of him.
That’s right, Trevor, hell has begun.
