Keep 'em or Toss 'em: 10 of Baseball's Unwritten Rules

In honor of Alex Rodriguez and his breaking of an unwritten rule while playing against the Oakland A's.

The following is a list of baseball's unwritten rules and the decision of whether they're worth keeping or whether they really aren't that big of a deal.

As for the one that ARod broke, I think we can all agree he knew exactly what he was doing and playing stupid afterwards was even more idiotic in my opinion. He was trying to get under the pitcher's skin because he felt like he can because he's ARod.

Astros manager Phil Garner was asked by Fox Sports Houston's Dave Dalati about Rodriguez running across the pitcher's mound and he told Dalati, “Call Nolan Ryan and ask him what he would have done if somebody ran across the mound like that. If he realized they were going to cross that rubber, they may have made it to their second step before they would have been decked.”

Anyway, I'm not here to bash ARod or the Yankees. Let's get to the unwritten rules and debate which ones we can keep and which ones go in the garbage heap.
