If not for the scoreboard, who knows where this Kris Bryant blast would have landed.
In the bottom of the fifth inning of Sunday's game, Bryant crushed the 0-2 pitch from Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Rubby De La Rosa over the wall in left field and off the scoreboard—way up on the scoreboard.
The best part was it was such a no-doubter that none of the Diamondbacks fielders in the frame bothered to move. Arizona left fielder David Peralta did ultimately look to see where the ball landed, however.
Per the Chicago Cubs, the home run traveled approximately 495 feet:
It's no secret that Bryant has great power. Let's not forget that he was in the 2015 Home Run Derby. But this blast was impressive even for him.
The RBI the rookie recorded on the dinger was his 86th of the season, which tied a franchise record:
Bryant's 23rd home run of the season knotted the game at 1-all.
