LA Lakers Texas Two Step and Clinch Playoff Spot, Beating Spurs, 102-93

Did anyone say "Encore?"

Well the Lakers did, and all they accomplished was a playoff birth for this years drive to another chance to play in the NBA finals.  There wasn't much of a celebration, because this is expected and it's just part of the checklist of things to do when you wear the gold & purple.

This was not before the "Mamba" struck a deadly three pointer with 1:46 left in the game, that put the Lakers on top for good & sent the Spur fans to the exits.

Kobe may want to send a fruit basket to Ron Artest for turning on his switch that was probably flickering before he lit up the Rockets the night before and forcing the fans in San Antonio to get the MVP chant going as Kobe left the court, Thursday night.

The supporting cast is getting it done also, with the return of Lamar Odom who served his one game suspension during the Rocket victory and turned in a double double with with 12 points and 10 boards.

Not to mention Pau Gasol who played great defense on both Bonner and Duncan, then turned in a double double of his own with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Now mind you all of this is getting done all without Andrew Bynum who is still recovering from an injured knee and should return end of March.  Bynum will be so fresh when the post season starts that any minutes and points the Lakers get from him will be a bonus.

The Lakers go for the Texas sweep on Sunday against Mavs who have looked good of late with solid victories over the Suns & Trailblazers this week.
