Lowell Spinners Present: "Most Hated Yankee Line-Up" Heavyweight Bout

LOWELL, MA – The Lowell Spinners want you to cast your vote as they try to round out the roster in the Most Hated Yankee Line-up competition. Cast your vote to let them know which shortstop is more disliked: Derek Jeter or Bucky "Bleepin" Dent.

The Spinners, Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have been leading the charge to find out the “Most Hated Yankee Line-Up” of all-time amongst Red Sox fans and are nearing the end of the campaign. Each week the Spinners have allowed fans to vote by position.

To date the winners are:

  • C: Thurman Munson
  • 1B: Jason Giambi
  • 2B: Chuck Knoblauch
  • 3B: Alex Rodriguez
  • LF: Johnny Damon
  • CF: Bernie Williams
  • RF: Gary Sheffield
  • DH: Lou Piniella

Currently, Roger Clemens has a commanding lead for the starting pitching position, which will be announced tomorrow night during the “Talking Baseball with the Spinners” heard on WCAP 980 from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. live from The Skybox Restaurant in Tewksbury.

This week features the much anticipated showdown at the shortstop position pitting Derek Jeter vs. Bucky Dent. Tuesday night Dent is expected to be a special guest on WCAP to talk about who he thinks will win the title of "Most Hated" between him and Jeter.

The "Most Hated" Yankee shortstop vote will begin Tuesday night. To vote fans must visit lowellspinners.com. The shortstop winner will be announced Friday night, June 19 as part of the Opening Night festivities along with the rest of the “Most Hated Yankee Line-Up.”
