Whoa.
This isn't final, for starters, but the rumor is starting to snowball. The gist of it goes like this:
Seattle gets: Cliff Lee
Philadelphia gets: Roy Halladay
Toronto gets: A whole bunch of prospects. Mariners will supposedly send two or more from this bunch: Brandon Morrow, Phillipe Aumont and Michael Saunders.
IF this goes down just like this, it's a home run for the M's. Morrow has always been about potential and I don't think would ever be very successful in Seattle. Aumont is a reliever. I never thought he would be a top starter, only a very inconsistent third or fourth starter due to his off speed stuff and arm slots.
I do like Saunders, but judging from the tail end of last year, Wakamatsu doesn't. He continually slotted Bill Hall ahead of Saunders, even when the M's were out of the race. Wakamatsu has earned my trust, so I trust that Saunders wouldn't work out here, much like Morrow.
Multiple sources have the M's not giving up Morrow or Saunders, which needless to say, is beyond awesome.
Zduriencik really truly believes we can win a World Series in 2010.
We got Cliff Lee without giving up Truienfel, Felix or Gutierrez. Yep, if you didn't believe it before, our GM is better than yours.
