Mark Teahen Rumored To Be Off the Block?

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports says that the Kansas City Royals "do not seem terribly inclined" to deal away Mark Teahen.

Now, I being a huge Royals fan am kind of split on this subject. I like Mark Teahen; he might be my favorite Royals player. But he's not an All-Star and most likely won't be.

I think that if the Royals can get something worth trading Teahen for then I'm on board. But if Dayton Moore trades Teahen to the Atlanta Braves for somebody he saw while there and has a hunch this player could be something, then I am totally out and will immediately call this trade a rip off for the Royals.

I like Dayton Moore a lot, but most of his trades have not been very good. The only trade where I think everyone can say was a steal for the Royals is the trade sending Ambriox Burgos to the Mets for Brian Bannister. Burgos has since been charged with murder, so is kind of a no-brainer.

But I think if the Royals can trade Teahen they should. Teahen won't get us where we want to go. Get a couple younger players with the chance of being as good if not better than Teahen is now.

Jayson Stark said on a local radio station Tuesday morning that he thinks the only big trade for the Royals before the deadline will be Brian Bannister.

That may be so, but I hope not.
