Mets Bloggers On the Outside Looking In
For the better part of the past five years, I have been writing and blogging about the trials and travails of the New York Mets.
As of today, I will no longer dedicate my free time towards that futile, unrewarding practice.
I’m done. The Mets have gone too far. In years past, their off-the-field actions were at least masked by some sort of façade that they cared for the common Queensite.
It has become clear...they don’t.
Every day, I peruse the Mets-related websites and blogs to keep abreast of any news regarding the team that I have loved like family since I was a young boy in the early 1960s.
Today, I came across a story that floored me.
My loyalty to the Mets has been tested time and time again, only to be upheld by some unexplained phenomenon. But today, that balloon burst like the aorta of a life-long meat-eating scourge…
Matt Cerrone, who is the founder and editor of MetsBlog.com, admitted on his website that he could not get tickets to the Mets’ April 13 opener at CitiField.
This would normally not be a big deal, but this guy actually WORKS for the Mets!
He’s the guy who does all the dirty work that Mets/com won’t do. He’s down in Port St. Lucie interviewing players and documenting the team’s day-to-day progress for both their website and their network—SNY.
Yet, the Mets have him scouring their parochial ticket service on their website for tickets for opening day.
Can you spell S-C-U-M-B-A-G-S?
I’m sure you can. This is an outrage.
Anyone who blogs anything positive about this organization from here on in is a fool…
Coming soon...more on the Mets ticket fiasco...
