Mets Pitcher Carlos Torres Punches Himself in Head After Rough Outing

New York Mets pitcher Carlos Torres wasn't happy about letting the Milwaukee Brewers take a commanding lead in the top of the 13th inning Thursday night, so he punished himself.

Managers don't want to see pitchers doing anything to jeopardize their arms. However, they also don't want their players inflicting pain on themselves.

After working out of trouble in the 12th inning, Torres couldn't wiggle out of a jam in the 13th. The reliever got yanked in the top of the 13th inning with the bases loaded and no outs after already surrendering three runs. Once he took a seat in the dugout, Torres paid the price for a rough outing:

The right-hander ended up allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk in one-plus inning of work.

Milwaukee went on to win 5-1, and the loss dropped Torres to 2-4 on the season.
