Mets Trade Ryan Church To Braves For Jeff Francoeur

According to Bart Hubbuch's NY Post Mets Twitter account, the New York Mets have traded OF Ryan Church to the Atlanta Braves for floundering Right Fielder Jeff Francoeur.

Franceour, 25, started off hot in Atlanta hitting a cool .300 with 14 home runs in his rookie 2005 campaign.

He won a 2007 Gold Glove with his NL leading 19 outfield assists also.

He has struggled with the bat since. He was demoted to AA last season and has always had problems with pitch selection as his anemic 12 walks in 304 ABs this season suggest.

The 30-year-old Church will replace Francouer in Atlanta's Right Field and is having a mediocre season. He hit 12 home runs last season with 49 RBI but has only played over 100 games games twice in his five year career.
