Several top prospects are off to a good start for their respective teams:
Madison Bumgarner, Giants LHP—Bumgarner threw six innings of two-hit baseball in his season debut for High A San Jose. He had five strikeouts and zero walks and could reach AA by May.
Brett Wallace, Cardinals 3B—He has four hits in seven at-bats with 2 HR in his first two games. He has 6 RBI and could be in St. Louis this season the way that David Freese is being tossed around.
Tim Beckham, Rays SS—Last years’ No. 1 overall pick was two for five and hit a home run in his first game for Class A Bowling Green.
Gordon Beckham, White Sox SS/2B—The White Sox prospect is 6 for 10 to start the season with three runs scored for the Barons. Beckham should reach the majors as soon as the White Sox need a legitimate bat.
