For the first month of the season, the Astros were the worst team in baseball. They garnered a bit of respect by finishing 33-27 down the stretch.
This is clearly a team rebuilding. They traded their two most recognizable names, Roy Oswalt and Lance Berkman, before the trade deadline.
The pitching is a strength, but the offense was one of the worst in baseball. They were last in the NL in home runs (108) and second to last in runs per game (3.8) General Manager Ed Wade tried to improve the lineup by getting Bill Hall and Clint Barmes during the offseason.
