The first day of the 2014 MLB winter meetings was relatively quiet, but with a decision looming from Jon Lester, things are set to explode in San Diego over the next three days.
Three significant moves did get done during the first day of the meetings, with a the groundwork laid for a fourth as Jeff Samardzija to the Chicago White Sox became official early Tuesday morning.
Expect plenty more action between now and things wrapping up on Thursday evening, as teams continue to rework their rosters for the upcoming season.

Tuesday: Los Angeles Angels acquire C Drew Butera from Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for player to be named or cash, according to Chris Cotillo of SB Nation.
Tuesday: Pittsburgh Pirates re-sign SP Francisco Liriano for three years, $39 million, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Tuesday: Chicago White Sox acquire SP Jeff Samardzija, RP Michael Ynoa from Oakland Athletics in exchange for SS Marcus Semien, SP Chris Bassitt, C Josh Phegley and 1B Rangel Ravelo, according to Jon Morosi of Fox Sports.
Monday: Chicago White Sox sign RP David Robertson for four years, $46 million, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
