MLB Winter Meetings 2016 Day 2: Live Coverage of All the Latest Deals, Rumors

Four free agents came off the board on Opening Day of the 2016 MLB winter meetings, a tetrad highlighted by Rich Hill's re-signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Mark Melancon, one of the three elite closers available to the highest bidder, joining the San Francisco Giants.

But those signings were somewhat overshadowed by slews of rumor and speculation surrounding some big names, ranging from free agents like Aroldis Chapman and Edwin Encarnacion to potential trade targets such as Chicago's Chris Sale and Kansas City's dynamic duo of Lorenzo Cain and Wade Davis.
